How They're Made

Handcrafted in Carson City, Nevada I use vertically laminated poplar for my cores, hand picked from a lumber yard in Reno, NV. Sidewalls are made out of hard Black Walnut treated with Teak oil for superior moisture and UV resistance. I use multiple weights and layers of Triaxial Fiberglass for reinforcement, flex and strength. Bases are sintered 4001 DuraSurf. Edges are oversized 2.2mm Rockwell-48 Hardened steel. I also use VDS for vibration damping. Each new pair of Herwiggy skis is finished on a Montana base wet-sander. They are also hand tuned and hot waxed......so they'll show up at your door ready to be mounted up. All three models have clear topsheets leaving the wooden core visible.
